ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Jackson Interactive Art Walk project includes four murals outdoors, plus 12 framed paintings in local businesses with subjects relating to those businesses. The murals were designed by local artist Blaise Jacobsen, and painted by people from the Jackson community. The paintings were made by Jacobsen and artist Gayle More.

Interactive art, Wikipedia says, "involves the spectator in a way that allows the art to achieve its purpose. Some interactive art installations achieve this by letting the observer or visitor ‘walk’ in, on, and around them; some others ask the artist or the spectators to become part of the artwork.”
All the art is perfect for social media and selfie-ready! Participants are invited to use the #pictureyourselfinjackson hashtag or email their self-portraits to the Jackson Center for the Arts at jacksoncenterforthearts@gmail.com. We'll print some out and put them on display!
ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Blaise Jacobsen graduated from Jackson County Central and now teaches middle school art and coaches multiple sports. He has painted many projects for the community and the schools.

Gayle More is known for her eclectic and creative artistic pursuits including beading, crafting, painting, and original work with mixed media.
